Summer reading is for everyone!  This year's theme is "Build a Better World"  Learn about our summer reading programs for children, young adults and adults.

Readers and parents of pre-readers are encouraged to register anytime for our fun summer reading program.  Children who finish the program by reading 10 books, or by listening to 10 hours of audio books or any combination will receive a reward.  Register at the Children’s circulation desk, record books or listening time on the chart you receive, and return your completed chart to pick up reward.

Young Adult

Teens who have completed grades 6-12 can register for Hutchinson Public Library’s YA Summer Reading Program “Story Wars!”  This program is action packed with weekly prize drawings, rewards for completing a punch card, and an end of program pizza party, with a grand prize winner drawing from all the reading slips entered.  The more you read or listen to an audio book, the more chances you have to win!

Adult readers deserve to have some summer reading fun too.  This year, the more you read (or listen to audio books) the more chances you have to win!  For each book or audio book you finish, fill out a slip at the Adult Circulation Desk (Main entrance) to be entered in a weekly drawing for prizes.  And, all your slips will be entered in the grand prize drawing at the end of the summer program!

Hutchinson Public Library staff will also be encouraging summer readers to build a better community.  The library will be a collection site for various local charities during each week of the summer reading program.
