Children’s Activity Room

Building children’s literacy skills and having fun is what we do best!  These summer programs are designed for families of readers and pre-readers.  Come join us and have some fun this summer at the library!

Summer Reading Program
May 26 - August 5
Build a Better World

Readers and parents of pre-readers are encouraged to register anytime for our fun summer reading program.  Children who finish the program by reading 10 books, or by listening to 10 hours of audio books or any combination will receive a reward.  Register at the Children’s circulation desk, list books read or listening time on the chart you receive, and return your completed chart to pick up reward.

Summer Storytimes 
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 
10:00 am & 2:00 pm

Recommended for children 3-8 years old

Family Fun Times
Mondays, 6:30 pm
June 5 through July 24

Come and Go Crafts
Wednesdays, 10:00 am - 11:45 am
July 5 - July 26

Free Summer Lunches 
June 5 - July 28, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Free lunch for children and teens ages 1-18.  No registration or identification is required.

Monthly Programs 
LEGOS® @ the Library
First Saturday of every month
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Read to Rover
Second Thursday of Every Month
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

(In partnership with Hutchinson Kennel Club Therapy Dogs).

E.L.F. Center (Early Literacy Fun)
Located in the Children’s area, the E.L.F. Center has toys, games, board books and parenting books to help parents and caregivers teach early literacy through play!
