Library users owe a debt of gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, and businesses that support public library services and facilities by donating their volunteer time, money, books and materials to the Hutchinson Public Library.
We encourage you to join them. Donations will be gratefully received and are recognized as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes. Please consult with your tax advisor for details.

Donations of used books and other materials
We gladly accept gently-used books, magazines, VHS tapes, DVDs, and audiobooks. Donations can be dropped off on the west side of the building through the staff entrance next to the garage doors. Drop-off times are Monday through Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. We encourage anyone having unique or historic items to contact Ruth at (620) 663-5441 ext. 113 for an appointment to review these materials. Items not accepted into the collection will be passed on to the Friends of the Library for sale unless prior arrangements have been made for their disposition.
Undesignated gifts are added to the HPL’s general trust. Designated gifts may be set up within the library’s general trust to provide ongoing support for a subject or an activity of your choosing. Designating the Library in your will is a wonderful way to leave a lasting gift to our community. Major bequests and memorial contributions have helped finance library construction, expansion, and renovation projects as well as to support collections and provide services. A major bequest can also support programs, strengthen collections, and provide for service beyond the means normally available to the Hutchinson Public Library.
