Is The Book Always Better? Movie Night

May 5 @ 8:00 am - 5:15 pm

Watch It Ends with Us on the library big screen in Meeting Room 1. Grab some popcorn and enjoy a caffeinated beverage in the comfort of your favorite library! Next week we’ll discuss the book and the movie adaptation. (Monday, May 12th at 6PM)

Welcome to Is the Book Always Better, the public library’s most delightfully opinionated book club—where book and movie lovers collide in a glorious mashup of paperbacks and popcorn. Each month, our group of passionate readers (and occasional armchair directors) dives into a carefully chosen book and its movie adaptation. We dissect the casting decisions, mourn the missing chapters, and occasionally declare, “The movie was better!”—much to the horror of our literary purists.

Expect spirited debates over plot changes scenes that should have made the final cut. We can’t rule out a stray off-topic fan base tangent or the occasional passionate defenses of Nicholas Cage.

Meetings are cozy and often louder than your typical library gathering (sorry, Dewey Decimal). Whether you’re a stickler for source material or someone who just really loves a good montage, Bring your hot takes. We’ll bring the bookmarks.
