Can I get a card if I live outside of Hutchinson?

Yes, you can! We issue library cards to patrons outside of Hutchinson.

Can I still get a card if I don’t have any proof of address right now?

If you have a photo ID but don’t have proof of address right now, we can issue you an online services only card. It will give you access to our computer lab and all of our e-books and other digital resources, but you will not be able to check out physical materials until you provide proof of address.

Can I get a card for my foster child?

Foster parents may get a card for their foster child.

How can I access my online account?

To access your library account, renew items, or place holds online, go to our library catalog.

Click on Log In on the top right corner of the page.

Enter your entire library card barcode number without spaces. Your password/PIN is the last four digits of your phone number.

What functions can I perform in my account?

You can do the following:

Change your password

Place holds

View checked out items

Renew checked out items

View any fines

Review contact information and request changes

Create a reading history to keep track of what you’ve read

Do I need to have my library card with me to check out materials?

Yes, you must either have your personal library card with you or have your library card saved to the CloudLibrary app on your phone or tablet.

Do I have to use my own card?

Yes. You can maintain control over items checked out on your account and prevent charges for items you do not have.

What happens if I lose my card or it is stolen?

If your card is lost or stolen, let the library know immediately. You are responsible for any materials checked out on your library card if the card is lost or stolen and not reported. There is a $1 fee for card replacement.

Can I pay my fines through My Account?

Not at this time. You can pay with card, cash, or check at the library.

What if I have fines? Can I still use my library card?

Your Hutchinson Public Library card will still work with all our online products, regardless of fines or fees. However, patrons with fines $5 or over may not check out physical materials.
